Your Pension Entitlements, Carefully Considered

Not at all. Many clients come simply to understand their pension position better. An initial consultation is an appropriate starting point whether you have a specific concern or are simply trying to make sense of a complex situation.

Preparation of the recalculation request itself — the documentation review, drafting, and supporting materials — generally takes two to four weeks once we have the necessary records. The time the administering authority takes to respond varies and is outside our control, though we advise clients on what to reasonably expect.

Any documents you have relating to your pension — notices, correspondence from the administering authority, contribution statements, or employment records — are helpful to have on hand. If you are unsure what to bring, please contact us beforehand and we will guide you.

Much of the documentation work can be handled remotely by correspondence. We do ask that clients attend at least one in-person appointment where possible, particularly for disability and early-retirement matters which often require careful discussion of personal circumstances.

Fees are confirmed before work begins and do not change once agreed, unless the scope of the matter changes significantly and we discuss a revision with you first. We do not add charges without prior discussion.

Yes. All information shared with Pikul Legal in the course of a consultation or engagement is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to third parties except where required by the nature of the work — for instance, when submitting formal requests to the relevant authority on your behalf.
